Your Targets
How This Generator Works
The generator first tests every protein that fits your diet and budget against your targets and keeps the closest fits. Each combo then sizes the protein portion (in half-serving steps) to cover roughly 80% of your protein target, then fills most of the remaining calorie budget with a carbohydrate side, adds a fixed vegetable serving, and tops off any remaining calories with a small amount of healthy fat if there's room. If a combo cannot land within about 15% of your calorie or protein target, a note on the card says so and suggests how to adjust.
To keep meal prep realistic, the plan generates up to three distinct combos and distributes your requested number of servings across them, rather than a different recipe for every single meal. Diet and budget filters remove ingredients that don't fit before any portions are calculated.
Frequently Asked Questions
How accurate are the calorie and protein numbers?
They're based on typical U.S. nutrition database values for common preparations, which is a reasonable planning estimate but not a substitute for logging your actual ingredients and brands if you need precise tracking.
Why does it suggest more than one combo instead of just one recipe?
Repeating a single meal for many servings in a row is a common reason people abandon meal prep. Rotating two or three combos still saves time while adding variety.
Can I substitute a protein or carb it suggests?
Yes. Swap in any protein or carbohydrate with a similar calorie and protein profile per serving, and the overall meal will land in a similar range.
What if my target calories are very low or very high?
Very low targets may not leave enough room for a full serving of carbs or fat, and very high targets may need larger portions than suggested. Adjust portions manually if a combo feels off for your target.
Is this generator giving me medical or dietary advice?
No. It's a general meal-planning tool. If you have a medical condition, are pregnant, or have specific nutrition needs, work with a registered dietitian or your healthcare provider.
